Designing both sides of a healthcare staffing marketplace.

The problem worth solving

Medely is a workforce-orchestration marketplace that connects healthcare facilities with nurses and allied professionals. Facilities need to fill shifts fast and keep care running; clinicians want flexible work on their own terms. Serving both sides of that marketplace well — at scale, across web and mobile — is the core design challenge.

What I owned

I lead design for the entire primary workflow across both sides of the marketplace, plus the onboarding and credentialing that brings new facilities and professionals in. On the facility side, that's managing and filling schedule gaps — posting a job to the marketplace and building lasting pools of preferred professionals to keep working with. On the professional side, it's browsing and booking that work. I own the arc from research through shipped UI, on web and mobile.

Approach & key decisions

The pivotal decision was restructuring the platform's navigation and information architecture to absorb fast growth — making a sprawling product legible again for both audiences. Improvements to the onboarding, credentialing, and job-creation flows followed, lifting adoption and fill rates. Underneath it all is one principle: make a complex, two-sided system feel simple for each side, without letting one experience quietly compromise the other.

What I'd carry forward

This is current, still-shipping work — but it's already sharpened how I design for two audiences at once, and shown how much leverage comes from fixing the foundations (IA, systems, consistency) rather than only the surface.
